Richesian Model 89 Las-gun

To begin this manual only describes the basic units of this weapon. Scientific theories on how the las-gun works will not need to be explained. These short details and picture blueprint should help you to understand the basic history, layout and workings of this modern day battlefield weapon. Part one: (The electro-enzyme cold fusion reactor.)

Scientist Chadwick Davidson founded Cold fusion in the year 14202 B.G. He created in a simple science lab on the Ceres home world a molecular enzyme that would take a water molecule and separate it, fusing the two remaining hydrogen atoms with expending pure oxygen. With this, cold fusion is possible. Water replaced fission of atoms as the fuel source. Chadwick was placed in the emperor's own scientific board for his innovations.

In its early stages the design, the containment of fusion energy had to be contained in clunky electro-magnetic barriers. Eventually through ingenious workings it was slimmed down to size.

Immediately the concept of cold fusion power and its wonderful potential was replacing new technologies of chemically charged projectile weapons. The cold fusion laser rifle was invented. Its tests passed with flying colors. The basic design of the Chadwick cold fusion reactor hasn't changed ever since.

Part two: (21 degree Kelvin coolant system)

Coolant systems date back to the first technological golden age during the reign of House Washington on planet Terra. This particular coolant system provided with freezing cold temperatures continuously and evenly throughout the machines piping.

Over time Richesian scientists have efficiently miniaturized it. It is the cooling system behind all las-guns.

Part three: (Energy vent)

The energy vent of the model 89 las-gun is patented for the best performance in expending oxygen from the Chadwick cold fusion reactor. The coolant system is linked with the vent so the exhaust doesn't expel at extreme temperatures. Also the vent faces away from the user of the weapon. It is tested best against all other energy vents in durability, able to be dropped in water and clogged in mud. It is most reliable.

Part four: (Bi-photon coding matrix)

In the years after Chadwick's cold fusion reactor, him and many other scientists worked on the bi-proton coding matrix. With this light could be compressed within the speed of the light itself. Working with chemo-electric and electro-magnetic materials and the latest in chip technology the group of scientists were able to take proton groups and put them into a particular matrix.

When light energy ejects from the Chadwick fusion reactor it needs to be organized into a matrix. Light energy doesn't flow in waves of single photons but rather they flow in pairs of two photons. Circling each other, creating a negative-positive polar variable. With the advanced computer programs inside this las-gun the force of duel protons is organized into ordered matrix codes and is able to be used as compressed light for a devastating blast.

Part five: (True-aim cut plaz-crystal)

Plaz-crystals are synthesized from silicon atoms, ordered and arranged for maximum in durability in the rigors of heat and pressure. It is very costly to manufacture and therefore not used unless in small amounts. Meta-glass is a cheaper alternative for more domestic uses but unable to focus light like plaz-crystals.

The color of one of these crystals is purplish and therefore the beam of light ejected from the las-gun is purple. It is cut in True-aim formation. This allows the beam of light to be more accurate then other cuts. It allows the barrel of the las-gun to do less work in focusing the beam accurately.

Part six: (Electro-magnetic stabilizing chamber)

The patented stabilizing chamber for the model 89 las-gun protects the defluxion barrel from over exposure to heat and ionization. Its only drawback is its characteristic hum. Often though this noise is beneficial, placing fear into the hearts of enemies, with or without las-guns.

Part seven: (Bi-photon defluxion barrel)

The bi-photon defluxion barrel of the model 89 las-gun is standard on all other high quality las-guns. Using special electronics and methods for keeping the paired protons in one controlled stream. It aids the true-cut plaz-crystals in keeping accurate the laser beam. Without this the laser blast would not fire with the same accuracy. Tests show with this particular barrel the laser beam is guaranteed to hit within 6 micrometers of its destination.

The Lasgun:

The Lasgun

A Las-gun is a nuclear powered laser rifle. Most models are very unwieldy and large. They are composed of many sophisticated parts. The most important of these is the power plant. It uses a mini fusion reactor. It powers super compressed waves of light through a special plaz crystal, which gives it its characteristic blue beam. It then shoots the beam through an electro-magnetic barrel barrier for protection, which also gives it a distinctive hum.

This weapon can be fired by tripod or by human hand. When fired by hand it is held at the hip with an eye piece hud system in place. It can be and usually is fired by line of sight though. There are many ways to discharge this weapon. One way, which is most popular, is in bursts. Usually one to two second ruptures. It can also be sprayed like a garden hose in a case of emergency. (Though this is looked at as very foolish because las-guns take some time to recharge, which is precious time wasted.)

Las-guns were in extensive use before holtzmen shields were invented. But after the shield came into use this great weapon lost much of its popularity for fear of the subatomic explosions that would incur when the beam hit the energy shield. Still used today for its strength and brutality though.

In my last thoughts this weapon changed the universe and will continue to do so as long as there are people that are contained in it. It is a force of life and a force of death.

It's a tool that is bittersweet and will always be so.

The Ornithopter:

The Ornithopter

The ornithopter is a vehicle that uses sustained wing flapping to attain lift. It took much time to smooth out all the problems with this type of flight. A large problem they dealt with was the wing flap engine. If directly connected to the body of the craft it would shake apart let alone fly reasonably. To conquer this problem they had to dabble in suspensors and other devices to finally come up with "floating engine" technology.

Other problems were the awkward control of such a ship. It needed many sophisticated computers to accomplish ease of piloting. They resemble a mixing of a jet/helicopter body. They use ion powered jets for propulsion. Most ornithopter's bodies can elongate and fix wings to achieve some added speed. Many mistake these aircraft to fly like a bird when they actually resemble the fluttering of a common housefly. The most agile manufactured object to date. There are many forms of the ornithopter, from a small one-man spotter craft, to the large cargo-carrying vessel. The ornithopter dates far back before the butlerian jihad. Over the years though it has been perfected. Its uses now range from civilian ownership to military combat. It is probably the most versatile tool of the universe.

Knifes and Swords:

Knifes and Swords

After the accumulation of the various theories of Holtzman, the defensive shield was invented. Before the defensive shield the major weapons of war were las-guns and chemically charged projectiles. Things changed though. If a metal or synthetic object flew too fast at a shield the object would be deflected. If a laser blast hit a shield a huge subatomic explosion would take place. Only one thing could defeat the shield. This was the lack of speed. Men eventually took advantage of this and invented "stunners" or slow pellet guns. Also ancient warfare came back to its prime. It was the use of various martial arts and sword crafts. Many forms of combat with blades exist. The most preferred though is the long sword and kindjal. The common sight of a battle zone looks much like feudal Europe. It's back to the focus of the individual skill of a solder. Not as much as the luck of a laser beam or bullet. This forced the training of elite forces. To not only safely carry las-guns but to easily defeat an enemy.

Atomics:

Atomics

Atomics have exponentially changed from their older counterparts of the early days of Terra. They have grown into earth killers. Only a few of them will leave a planet desolate. There are also weaker nuclear weapons to clear away or destroy large objects.

After the great convention they were all made illegal. Though all houses carry a quantity just in case they are ordered to retaliate against an enemy house. Because of the illegality of such a powerful tool war has become more refined. Where wars of assassins and regular infantry exist. The main danger is the smuggling of these weapons by rogue houses. Though the emperor and the other houses cant do much to defend against this.

It isn't as dangerous as some others they face.
